Calm Case Manager™

Coaching for new SPED teachers of color who want to stay, lead, and change outcomes

This work is bigger than better paperwork.

Black and Brown students are over-represented in Special Education , and at the same time, research consistently shows that students of color benefit academically, socially, and emotionally when they are taught by teachers who share their racial and cultural identities.

And yet?

New special education teachers of color are leaving the field at alarming rates.

Not because they don’t care.
Not because they aren’t capable.
But because the job is emotionally heavy, structurally overwhelming, and rarely designed to support their sustainability.

Calm Case Manager™ exists to change that.

I help new special education teachers of color go from overwhelmed, isolated, and on the edge of burnout to calm, confident, and system-savvy case managers—so they can build sustainable careers and create transformative impact for students of color in special education.

This isn’t about hustling harder.
It’s about building infrastructure for your longevity.

Who this membership is for

Calm Case Manager™ is built with new SPED teachers of color at the center.

It’s for you if:

  • you’re in your first 1–5 years in special education

  • you care deeply about students and equity

  • you feel the emotional weight of this work

  • you’re tired of carrying everything in your head and nervous system

  • you want to stay—but not at the cost of yourself

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to want support that honors both your humanity and your impact.

Who this is not for

This isn’t for you if:

  • you want a template dump with no reflection

  • you expect someone to fix your workload for you

  • you prefer passive, self-paced content with no community or coaching

  • you aren’t open to examining how beliefs, systems, and emotions shape your work

This space is for teachers who want to build capacity, not just survive.

What Calm Case Manager™ actually is

Calm Case Manager™ is a coaching-based membership that brings together new SPED teachers of color (and allies aligned with this mission) to:

  • build sustainable case management systems

  • strengthen confidence in IEP decisions and collaboration

  • develop emotional regulation as a professional skill

  • reduce burnout and isolation

  • increase long-term impact for students of color in special education

This is retention work.
This is leadership development.
This is systems change—starting with you.

The approach: The CALM Method

We don’t chase perfection here.
We build capacity.

First, we Connect with Purpose
We clarify what matters, name constraints, and reduce internal pressure.

Then, we Align Plans with Purpose
We build systems that actually fit your context and workload.

Then, we Let Go of what’s outside your control
We stop carrying what isn’t yours and reduce emotional overextension.

Finally, we Maintain with Systems
We track progress, adjust intentionally, and strengthen your identity as a calm, confident case manager.

The transformation

Members typically go from:

  • feeling reactive, braced, and overwhelmed
    to

  • feeling grounded, clear, and confident

within 60–90 days.

Not because the job becomes easy—
but because you become supported.

Why this matters

When teachers of color are supported to stay:

  • students of color experience more belonging and possibility

  • schools become more stable

  • special education becomes less about survival and more about transformation

This membership is not just about your workflow.
It’s about your future in this field.
